The kids had a very jam-packed day today for our Early Release Day! We meet with Kinderbuddies, went to our reading groups, went to an assembly, hunted for gingerbread men and read! Unfortunately, we did not have time to take re-take our math test; if your child was planning to retake our Unit 2 test, I will give that next week.
The next month will just fly by with many exciting things coming up! Please email me if you have questions about our activities.
Thank you!
Mrs. Haagsma

Science- We will wrap up our Force and Motion Unit next week with Simple Machines.
Social Studies-This week we worked on reading maps, reading a grid and learned about keys on a map.
Spelling-Please have your child practice their words and write them in their agendas once a day. Our first practice test will be next Friday.
Reading- Learning to put ourselves in a "character's shoes" to predict how they will react to events in a story was our goal this week.
Reminders:
Christmas Party and Bowling Party-This year, we will be having our 3rd grade Christmas party on Wednesday, December 21 from 2:45-3:45. This party will be a bit more relaxed with treats and a game or two. Mr. Beimers will schedule our Bowling Trip to Hudsonville Lanes from our can drive win and parents will be invited to that as well. I will let you know once the date is finalized!
Holiday Hope-WOW! We have so many families willing to donate and shop for our family in need this season. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! This will be a wonderful chance to show students how great it is to give rather than receive. Our shopping day is Monday, Dec. 12 at 6:30pm. We will meet at the Target in Grandville. I will give you more guidance about what to buy when we meet in the lobby. Students can bring wrapping paper/ribbons on Tuesday, Dec. 13 with them to school for our wrapping party. Parents are invited to come and help wrap with us from 2:45-3:45. I would love a simple treat donation as well for that day, please let me know if you are willing to donate.
Christmas Program-Tuesday, Dec. 13-Fellowship Church 7:30pm-Students will meet in our assigned room in the basement of the church. You are then welcome to find a place to sit for the program. I know we are all looking forward to watching the students perform!
Store Donations-If you are willing to send in donations for our store, we are grateful as 3rd grade teachers! We welcome donations of candy (suckers, individual size pieces), cans of soda, and small trinkets.
Spelling-Today we recieved our first spelling list. Students will have a practice test next Friday. IF students received a 100% on their practice test, they do not need to practice spelling next week.
