I will not be sending Progress Reports home this week due to being out of the classroom 3 days and on the Field trip. These usually go home every other Friday, but with the Snow Day last week and this busy week I will be sending them home next week Friday instead.
Snap Math Update
Please continue to have your child practice their flashcards every night. Apps and games on mobile devices or tablets are a great way for your child to practice all of their facts. The expectation is that your child has all of their multiplication and division facts memorized by the end of 3rd grade. Once they finish all of their multiplication cards, they move on to division. Keep practicing!
Math-We will be tested over addition and subtraction, story problems and place value on Monday. Please review your child's practice test this weekend with your child.
Grammar-Verb tenses is our current focus in Grammar. The students are doing a great job with labeling sentences with the correct form of grammar as well!
Social Studies-Our focus in Michigan History is the Native American tribes who live in Michigan. We are also learning about Legends and completed a poster project in pairs teaching others about a Native American Legend.
Writing-The students are doing a wonderful job finishing up their Non-fiction pieces. With topics such as Baseball, Notre Dame Football, Dogs, and Camping I am very excited to see their final drafts!
Reading-I was very impressed with the amazing growth in reading over the past few months! I completed reading testing this week and many students jumped up multiple reading level! Keep working hard at home!
