As part of our Earth Changes Unit, we are learning all about Fossils! Today we learned how fossils are formed and explored different types of fossils found by Mrs. Haagsma in Michigan. We even had a chance to see a large collection of Petoskey Stones (our state stone). Next week we will head outside for a fossil hunt of our own! Many students can not wait to go on a hunt of their own!
Dear Parents, The plans are underway for the Haagsma Hawaiian Luau on Thursday, June 4. I have games, water balloons, and crafts planned and bought. Along with Hawaiian Music, a hula dance, and a beached themed classroom! This will be an all day event for us as we learn, play, and eat. I hope that this will be a day that the students will remember! I have lots of things bought, but am in need of a few items;
Thank you so much for your help! Mrs. Haagsma If you would like to donate one of these items, please send back the form sent home today or email me at [email protected] One of our 3rd Graders, Caleb Mulder and his brother Jarod, have Sanfilippo Syndrome (MPS III). Friday, May 15 is MPS awareness day to put the spotlight on this disease and bring awareness.
We wore our green Team Caleb/Team Jarod t-shirts or purple (the color of MPS) to support Caleb and his brother. Please visit www.sanfilippohopeinitiative.org/ to learn more about Team Jarod / Team Caleb! The students were excited to enter into our current Science Unit on Force and Motion! We love hands on activities! Here we are testing the speed and distance cars travel.
