Today we received a special package from a kind stranger in Maine! The package contained two Maine magnets, an ornament, and a pin. What a fun surprise! The students were impressed by the kindness of others who learned about our Postcard Challenge online. We would still love to receive Postcards from any state, even ones that we already have! Mrs. Haagsma 5525 Park Ave Hudsonville, MI 49426 Dear Parents, Thank you very much for the wonderful support with our "All About Animals" Writing Celebration! The event was a great success and the students felt so proud to share their writing. I was blown away by the attention to detail, focus, and strong writing within these pieces! So many students commented on the kind remarks regarding their writing and I know that those compliment pages will be treasured! Thank you! Mrs. Haagsma The week before Christmas break, we were able to wrap up our Science Unit on Animal Adaptations with an interesting and gross experiment! Owl Pellets! We spent the day learning about this special adaptation that owl have and then had a chance to dissect them. Owl pellets are hard, dry masses of fur, feathers, and bones. These are the remains of the animals that owl eat, but can not digest. They then cough them up! The students had a great time exploring and dissecting these pellets and discovering the bones inside. Dear Parents,
It is a new year and we are back into the swing of 3rd Grade! A few new things are coming up in 3rd grade over the next month or two!
A few other reminders as well...
Thank you for your support! |
