Wow! Our last week already! It is hard to believe! The kids are looking forward to an outstanding week full of fun; the wax museum, Field Day and our Luau on Friday. I can't wait to jump in!
Have a fun last week,
Mrs. Haagsma
Questions to ask your child about 3rd grade this week

- What is something you are looking forward to this week?
- What is your favorite read aloud from this year?
- Can you share one success from school or home?
Curriculum Updates
Writing: Our Wax Museum projects are almost finished; just a few finishing touches on our posters and we will spend quite a bit of time rehearsing our speeches. Hope to see you on Wednesday!
Social Studies: Finished for the year!
Math: We will wrap up Math with our final unit test on Tuesday- 2 step story problems!
Reading Workshop:
We will finish up a powerful read-aloud called How to Steal a Dog. This book examines the tough choices a family must make when they are facing homelessness. There are some great discussions going on with this book! Please ask your child to share a summary of it with you!
MobyMax and Study Island: These are two great learning sites that Park students have access to (Thank you Parents' Club!) We spend time each week extending and practicing our skills in the subjects of Math and Reading on these sites. Computer skills are an essential part of our learning!
Epic! is another site that your child may want to explore. This is a wonderful site full of over 20,000 books. Your child can get on for free Monday-Friday during school hours. This is perfect for a Snow Day or during our breaks.
